paragon AG / Key word(s): Change of Personnel Professor Lutz Eckstein named as new Chairman of paragon AG's Supervisory Board Delbrück, Germany, May 14, 2014 - The annual general meeting of paragon AG today elected Professor Lutz Eckstein as a new member of the company's Supervisory Board. Following the general meeting, the Supervisory Board, in the first meeting of its new period of office, selected Prof. Eckstein as its new Chairman. With this appointment, he replaces Hans J. Zimmermann, who has resigned for personal reasons. "With his base of experience, Hans Zimmermann was of great service to our company over the last four years, and his efforts have helped us to achieve our success over this time. We are grateful to him for his contributions, and we wish him well," said Klaus Dieter Frers, CEO of paragon AG. His successor, Lutz Eckstein, brings many years of professional experience in the automotive industry. Following completion of his studies in mechanical engineering, including a doctoral degree from the University of Stuttgart, Eckstein worked for ten years in research and development at Daimler AG, followed by five years in a management position at BMW Group in the electrical/electronic area. Since 2010 he is heading the Institute of Automotive Engineering at RWTH Aachen University, the key current research areas of which notably include electromobility, lightweight design, and networking of driver assistance systems with vehicle control systems. Among his many professional activities, Prof. Eckstein is a member of the National Platform for Electromobility (NPE), a German federal government advisory committee, and is the inventor of more than 80 German and international patents. Following his election to the Supervisory Board, Professor Eckstein said, "With its innovations and its corporate tradition now stretching back more than 25 years, paragon is a particularly interesting company within the automotive supplier industry. I will contribute my expertise as best I can and will, in addition to oversight responsibilities, actively advise the company."
